Smart guitar-shopping prompts

Copy one of these prompts into ChatGPT and replace the words in brackets with information from the guitar listing.

White-Label Finder

Use this to look for comparable guitars or accessories sold under different names.

“I want to buy [product name and link/description]. Find cheaper alternatives likely made in the same factory or with identical specifications. Compare materials, dimensions, ratings, and reviews. Show the price difference for each one.”

Brand-Markup Detector

Use this to understand what may be included in the price and find comparable options.

“I’m considering spending $[amount] on [product]. Estimate how much of the price reflects manufacturing, branding, packaging, distribution, and marketing. Then find generic or lesser-known alternatives with comparable specifications for less.”

Review Analyzer

Compare two guitars or accessories using the experiences described by actual buyers.

“Here are two products I’m comparing: [product A] at $[price] and [product B] at $[price]. Analyze the reviews for both. Look for patterns in complaints, quality issues, durability, and fake-review signals. Tell me which one is actually worth buying based on real user experience, not star ratings.”

Bulk/Subscribe Optimizer

Find the most economical way to reorder strings, picks, cleaning supplies, and other essentials.

“I regularly buy these products: [list items you reorder often]. For each one, find me the cheapest way to buy it. Compare single purchase vs. bulk vs. subscribe-and-save vs. buying directly from the manufacturer’s website. Show me the yearly savings if I switch.”

Price History Checker

Check whether a sale price is truly a bargain before placing your order.

“I’m about to buy [product] for $[price] from [store name]. Is this a fair price? Tell me how to check its price history with free tools, what comparable stores charge, and whether I should buy now or wait.”

Notes from a guitar player

A good guitar makes you want to pick it up.

Whether it is your first instrument or the guitar you have wanted for forty years, the right choice should feel inviting. Brand names matter less than playability, condition, sound, and the kind of music you hope to make.

Start with the songs you love. Choose the guitar that makes those songs feel close enough to play.
